On 28-29 June 2022, the DT4REGIONS Conference - 'A Journey towards an EU Platform for AI and Big Data in Public Information' took place, online and in Barcelona.

The event was an occasion to present the first release of the DT4REGIONS Platform, launch the DT4REGIONS Award and introduce the project Advisory Board. All these elements will serve to support public administrations in finding, sharing, discussing and showcasing Artificial Intelligence and Big Data solutions for the Digital Transformation of services of public interest, and building a community.

The conference also featured various discussions and workshops with representatives of EU Regions and EU Cities, the European Commission as well as organisations and projects focusing on different aspects of digital transformation.

Connecting speakers, project partners and participants in Barcelona and online, among the topics we discussed the ethical aspect of AI and its social impact, the role of regions and local authorities in pursuing digital transformation, interoperability, reuse and scaling-up of digital solutions across levels of governance. We also highlighted achievements from the first year of the project and the process behind the creation of the DT4REGIONS platform, as well as AI in the context of Digital Twins and Data Spaces.

Exchanging different insights and ideas will remain the main outcome of this conference and will pave the way for the second year of the project's implementation. You can find the final programme of the conference here.
